A community gathering is being organized in Huntington Park to foster emotional wellness through breathwork, meditation, journaling, and creative art.

“Co-Regulating With My Homies: Breathwork & Therapeutic Art” will take place Sunday, Oct. 11, from 5 to 6:15 p.m. at Art Space Huntington Park, located at 3382 E. Florence Ave.

This session focuses on “co-regulation,” a process highlighting the importance of mutual support in developing self-regulation skills, according to the organizers. The program is aimed at individuals aged 18 and older.

The program will include three parts.

A brief journaling exercise to reflect and release lingering thoughts.

Next, there will be a 20-minute guided breathwork session. Individuals who require special accommodation are encouraged to communicate their needs to the facilitator.

The final component will be a zine-making activity, a therapeutic art exercise to create a zine exploring themes related to the inner child.

Attendees are advised to bring the following items for the session: a notebook or journal, a childhood photograph they are comfortable cutting, one yoga mat, one blanket, and a water bottle. Optional items may include a bolster, eye coverings, or other personal comfort items.

There is a suggested donation of $10 to $20.
